Book #1:
The Journal
The Story of Our Love
If best-selling authors of The Notebook, Nicholas Sparks, and The Time Traveler’s Wife, Audrey Niffenegger, got together and had a literary baby, the progeny would have a name: The Journal: The Story of Our Love,
by Rock Lee...
The story begins with a mystery narrator (no spoilers here; sorry, not sorry), then quickly transitions to an elderly couple, Ian (78) and Beth (81) Adams, living in an assisted-living apartment in the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 2055. After a strange black-out event, Ian discovers his loving wife of 35-years, Beth, shaking him back to consciousness. He says to his wife, “Beth, you’re not going to believe this, but I just time-travelled.” Ian’s body is 78, but his mind is now ~120-years-old...
His crazy adventure: Ian traveled back in time into his 18-year-old body, traveled cross-country, found Beth, knocked on her door, spent the day with her, dated her, fell in love with her again, married her, had two children with her, inadvertently caused World War III, married her again, made a billion dollars, lost her in a horrible accident, married her again, had twelve children with her, tragically loses her again, before returning to the moment he had blacked-out on their seniors' apartment floor!
In The Journal, we will laugh with Ian and Beth; we will cry with Ian and Beth; we will make love and fall-in-love with Ian and Beth over and over again; we will sing and dance with both Ian, Beth and their children! But even after we, dear Journal-readers, get flooded with every human emotion under the sun as we read, each and every sub-story eventually converges on “The Inevitable.”
Rock hopes that all of you, dear Journal-readers, enjoy it just as much as he enjoyed writing it! Safe journeys...
